Teaching a fun recall outside using a whistle. 1. Begin with dog on leash a long line would be great for distance recall. and treats stashed away in your treat pouch. 2. Star at 7 ft. away whistle and back up as you reel the dog into close to your feet and treat. 3. Say,"ok go play" then allow the dog to become distracted and repeat above exercise for many weeks build up with success to the end of your long 30 ft away from you .
4. Do not drop the leash in case the dog decides something else besides you looks interesting and goes chasing after it. With the leash in your hands you will be prepared and set up a strong recall with a happy association.
