McNally's Dog Center - Train and Board

Good puppy training: Our specialized training programs consist of either a 14 day program called “The beginning” or 30 and 45 day programs for parents who want a dog listening inside and outside the home the advance level. Our methods are fun and a great learning experience for the dogs. We do not use the old traditional correctional methods that some trainers still use today for quick results combining correction and shock collar base methods. Using positive conditioning approach does take a little longer while a dog is being trained but the dog comes home happy to do the commands and interested in performing all behaviors you may want.

Day One: When your dog first arrives, there is a transition period during which your dog is socialized, allowed to play with other dogs and interact with our trainers and family members, This usually last for a couple of days. Once the dog has had time to adjust to his changed surroundings and is more relaxed, we begin the work.

First stage of training: Your dog will learn new behaviors in a relaxed quiet safe environment without distractions-to makes it easy to learn. We want your dog to succeed and we make sure the environment gives him every opportunity to do so. The first week, all training is done in our center or ranch and our goal is to get a solid foundation in the basics: Sit, Down, Wait, Stay, and loose leash manners.

Pump up the training: We begin field trips, if the dog is ready to move on, we begin to press him on his obedience in more distracted locations such s a park or coffee shop which would mimic the activities a family would do together and help your dog learn how to behave in these different environments which will give you the well mannered dog you’ve always dreamed of having.

Your dog will wear a vest in public that identify him as a “dog -in-training.” Wearing his uniform will help strangers from approaching him incorrectly and instead humans will ask to pet the dog which allows us to set the dog up for a successful “meet-and-greet.”

We hope you will consider us to take in your pet and let us give him or her a lot of love and awesome training. While your dog is with us you will be welcomed to visit and Julia will work with you and your family on how to maintain your dog’s good manners. The training never ends but its so much fun to have a well trained dog that will live with you for many years and be welcomed every where you go.
